Norse Tower, Newport RI

This tower is now in the city of Newport, Rhode Island. But it hasn't always been there. Well, it has always been there, but the city hasn't! Even before the city of Newport sprang up around it this tower sat on the coast. Governor Benedict Arnold, grandfather of the traitor, once owned it, and some say he built it. However, the mystery is that a tiny tower is depicted on a map drawn in 1569, and a "Norman Villa" is said to be on the spot on a map dated 1524. Benedict Arnold, vikings, maybe aliens? Who knows.
